Come as you are comfortable. You will find us in suits and jeans, dresses and capris, wearing diapers and using walkers but everyone worshiping together and seeking to grow in our faith. You will meet an eclectic community that is all about walking with you wherever you may be on life’s journey.
Maidencreek Church is a strong congregation connected with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the United Church of Christ. Today our community comes together from all walks of life. Our members are from all traditions, some never belonging to a church before. This diversity enhances our congregation by bringing the wonderful gift of new perspectives to our Pennsylvania German traditions. We are a church that combines elements from traditional and contemporary worship services.
Preaching seeks to relate the gospel message to contemporary issues and everyday life. Worship is enhanced by our choir, soloists, instrumentalists, creativity and participation by members of the congregation. We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of the month and on all Festival Days. Our communion table is open to all who believe.
Children and youth are an important part of our worship. Older children participate in the service by lighting candles or reading prayers. During worship, we provide a children's message, where all children are invited to come upfront and explore their faith together.
All children pre-K to 7th grade are invited to participate in our Sunday School program. The program begins after the children's message and ends with the worship service. We also created a "prayground" - a space in our sanctuary where younger children and their families can sit and play, pray, and participate in our services.
